X-Ray Proficiency and Safety for the Sold Out !!!!
Chiropractic Assistant

The Chiropractic Association of Louisiana is pleased to announce the scheduling of our class in X-Ray Proficiency and Safety for the Chiropractic Assistant for 2017. This program is offered to assist doctors in the education of their staffs and compliance with state laws which require chiropractic assistants involved in the taking of x-rays to be certified.

During the three weekend sessions, CAs will be exposed to information regarding diagnostic imaging. Course work will stress operating and safety procedures.Through the lectures, students will gain practical knowledge in basic anatomy, proper positioning, shielding, patient dosage, processing and quality problem solving techniques.

Textbook knowledge is then enhanced and reinforced through through hands-on training, a feature unique to CAL's program. It's a proven fact that most people learn best by doing. With that thought in mind, this program has been structured so that approximately half of your CA's time will be spent in a workshop setting where she/he will have the opportunity to actually apply the principles set forth during the lectures.

About the Speaker: Ricky Melancon, D.C.

Dr. Melancon's workwith the Chiropractic Association of Louisiana actually began during his days as a student at Texas Chiropractic College. In 2002 and 2003, he served as the President of CAL's Student Chapter at TCC, and in each of those years was the recipient of CAL's William Boyd Scholarship.

During his senior year, Dr. Melancon served as a Teacher's Assistant in the Radiology Laboratory and as Chief Intern of the Moody Health Center. A member of the Omega Psi Honor Society Dr. Melancon graduated Cum Lahde in 2003.

Dr. Melancon practice in Houma, Louisiana, where he is part of a multi-disciplinary group.

This "essential skills" semianr reviews 7 commonly overlaooked problems that delay recovery. In one way or another, these 7 "functional" diagnoses contribute to many, if not all, of the "structural" diagnoses that chiropractors treat. The discussion will cover the identification and successful management of : Upper Crossed Syndrome, Scapular Dyskinesis, Lower Crossed syndrome, Hip Abductor Weakness, Paradoxical Breathing, Spinal Instability, and Foot Hyperpronation.

About the Speaker: Timothy J. Bertelsman, D.C., CCSP, DACO

Dr. Tim Bertelsman graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic and has been practicing in Belleville, IL since 1992. He is a board certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and a Diplomate of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists. Dr. Bertelsman has lectured nationally on various clinical and business topics and has been published extensively. He has served leadership positions within the Illinois Chiropractic Society and currently serves as President of the executive board.

CAL Presents:

Advanced Dry Needling
for the Chiropractic Practice

About the program:

Note: This class is only open to Chiropractors who have completed a 50-hour certification program approved by the Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners in Dry Needling.

The 12 hour session will provide hands-on training and will build on the foundations of the basic class. Specifically the attendee will gain a more in depth knowledge of neefling techniques for the most common musculoskeletal conditions seen in the typcal chiropractic office. In addition doctors will gain insight into phychosomatic conditions and effective ways to manage them using chiropractic and dry needling techniques. Treatments for organ dysfunction related to impaired neurological function will be highlighted to help doctors employ a truly holistic approach to their patient's care. Case studies will be presented and in class demonstrations and opportunities for hands on learning will be utilized.

About the Instructor:

Dr. Tim Green graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic earning the Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1988 and the Bachelor of Science in human biology in 1996. Post graduate work includes certification in Chinese herbology from Kanas College of Oriental Medicine and diplomate status with the American Board of Chiropractic Acupuncture (ABCA) as well as becoming a Fellow of the American Society of Acupuncture. Dr. Green is also certified in dry needling through the American Institute of Dry Needling and is board qualified in thermography through the American Medical Infared academy. He served on the ABCA board for six years including terms as president and vice-president. He was also a member of the executive council of the Council of Chiropractic Acupuncture and Louisiana's alternate delegate for the American Chiropractic Association for 4 years.

Dr. Green has practice in Farmerville, LA for 18 years wher he operates and integrated practice working with patients from all over the United States and several oreign countries.
